On 4th May 2018 at

  • Built for those with a keen interest in the arts, BLAG presents collections of bold photography galleries, in-depth feel good and often humorous long reads, unseen Polaroids and forthcoming new or unheard audio documentaries and rare video footage.
  • The launch stars: Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shae Haley’s N.E.R.D, Questlove of The Roots, Adrien Brody, Beastie Boys, Miguel, Amy Winehouse, John Legend, The Raconteurs, Chuck D, plus artists Dalek and Phil Frost in new and classic content by Sally A. Edwards and Sarah J. Edwards.
  • Sally A. Edwards and Sarah J. Edwards started BLAG as a ‘zine while at art college to showcase musicians, artists and creativity. They grew it to become an international ad-free glossy, predicting some of the world’s most successful talents.

Designed entirely by Sally A. Edwards, BLAG at is inspired by streaming services and their better ability to deliver entertainment on-demand, along with grand and iconic art galleries. Created in HiDPI, it brings out the realness BLAG is renowned for, making the experience even more special. The new BLAG allows readers and viewers to enjoy in-depth content on all Apple devices: from iPhones, iPads, MacBooks and iMacs and home movie theatre screens via mirroring. Introductory subscriptions start at £15 per month.

“We’ve created BLAG to be a safe place online, for artists themselves and those who have a genuine passion and legitimate appreciation for the arts,” stated Sally. “We’ve also been studying the effects of creativity on wellbeing and have discovered reading does remarkable things to and for the brain as opposed to purely watching entertainment. So we’re delighted we can bring our viewers and readers right into the experience in new, exciting and healthy ways.”

“We’ve researched for years to find out what people desired of BLAG outside of print and how to get our work to a far reaching audience,” added Sarah. “We want the gems of advice, encouragement, entertainment, humour and bold images we’ve captured to be experienced in not only a dynamic but very rewarding way. The new BLAG mixes nostalgia and future gazing in a really vibrant style.”

Sally and Sarah will use BLAG to roll out scheduled archival and brand new optimised stories with a faster turnaround and richer experience for subscribers, with audio and mini documentaries forthcoming.

“... a well put together glossy, the magazine has retained the fun voice of its origins.” The Guardian

“[BLAG] manages to be highbrow, lowbrow, edgy and cultured all at the same time. Clever.” Nicholas Coleridge, Conde Nast.

BLAG launches on 4th May 2018 at and is open for subscriptions to be purchased.

About BLAG: British twin sisters Sally A. Edwards and Sarah J. Edwards began BLAG in the mid 90s.

While at Art College in Lincoln, England, armed with fake id, the young teenagers knocked on doors to blag interviews and shoots with artists including Sonic Youth, The Breeders and Blur for their early xeroxed ‘zines. At 19, the duo officially left home with £20 each and started music industry jobs to fund their dream magazine (including PRing Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, Foo Fighters and plugging Grand Royal Records.) The first glossy BLAG starred Wu-Tang’s GZA on the cover and inside features including Beck, this soon followed with a debut and life changing cover for Questlove. Subsequently, the self-made twins landed a worldwide book deal and grew BLAG to be one of the first traditional ad-free, international style magazines, discovering and giving artists early career features including André 3000, 50 Cent, Mark Ronson, Adrien Brody, Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, Amy Winehouse and James McAvoy to profiles with stalwarts Beastie Boys and Slash. Today, the twins retain their raw, real and honest approach to high quality original content making.

Sally A. Edwards’ roles: Art Direction, Design, Directing, Producing, Writing and Editing. Sarah J. Edwards: Photography, Directing, Producing, Writing and Editing.

“You are the human form of the truth serum,” quoted Questlove. “I’m just making an observation that all your cover subject’s publicists don’t know that you’re the greatest magazine ever.”
